Snippets Playground

Weeks 208-209

The sentiment says Thank You, and quite apt as I should thank Miss for all her hard work over the past 4 years, dedication and an all round good egg.

Everything, apart from the image is made from snippets
Pre-coloured image and papers from LOTV
Pink card, I think is SU
Border die - MFT
Sentiment Craftwork Cards

Suddenly realised that I needed another entry into the Playground as my last entry will be Saturday Morning just before the gates close.
I think that Miss will have a real struggle on her hands picking her favourites this time as there are, as always, some stunners.
New Years Eve, wonder if Sarn will be behind the bike shed tonight, will take a couple of bottles just in case, better take one for myself too.

Merry Christmas, Everyone

This should be my last Christmas card of 2015, not taken at a great angle and in the dull and dismal  weather that we have been having this past couple of weeks.

Apart from the actual card all the white card is from my snippets collection,
which is quite large.
Lil Inker's Stitched Square die.
Memory Box - Perfect Patches die
Cute Robin - Penny Black from the Jolly Friends set
Sentiment - SU

Presents - wrapped and delivered
House cleaned from top to bottom
All food shopping complete

Christmas dinner this year will be today (Wednesday 23rd) as Son-in-Law goes back to work on Christmas Eve, flies to Buenos Aires, not back again till end of March.

Now serious stuff.
I would like to thank all my FABULOUS followers and friends for all your visits and comments over the past year you have all been so very kind, I really appreciate you taking the time to pop by and leave a comment.

May you all have a really lovely Christmas
and I wish you all a very Happy, Healthy 2016

Penny Black and More - Goodness knows, Anything goes

Sorry about the photo.

I am also going to push my luck and enter this into Di's Snippets Playground as the image was stamped on a piece of left over A4 card, as is the piece of gold backing paper, now to me it is not really a snippet but I'll give it a try, probably get a detention, but hey ho, what's another one.

This is PB stamp - Tree Chirps
A bit of left over shimmer gold backing paper
Coloured with ProMarkers
I used peel off's for the sentiments coloured red, well I didn't dare use a stamp because it took 4 goes to colour this image to anything a tad decent, so I wasn't going to spoil it by making a mess of stamping the sentiment.
A bit of glitter added here and there
I am totally useless at colouring but this was not an image to paper piece but I do love the stamp.
Wish I'd put a ribbon on the card too, then I could have also entered Stamping Sensations.

Allsorts challenge week 340 - CAS

It is Brenda's turn to host the challenge this week and she has chosen the the theme of...
...CAS - Clean and Simple.
I have used the Penny Black Snowman from the Jolly Friends set, never goes out of fashion
Taylored Expressions  EF - Snowfall
Coloured with Promarkers
MS glitter on the hat
Pearls for the berries.
Sentiment is a piece of ribbon that I glued onto a piece of card as I thought the snow bubbles would show under the ribbon, if I placed it straight on the card.

The red card was just the right size for the card but I did not have any left to make an oval to back the image so I cut a larger oval out of the embossed card then placed the image in the frame so it looks as if it is backed.

Have a great week.

Our sponsor this week is Scrappers Delight

and we also have an extra prize of this paper pad.

Thanks so much for popping by.

Allsorts challenge week 339 and my Advent calendar

Good Morning, Saturday has quickly come round again and it is time for another  challenge at Allsorts  this week it is the turn of the lovely Tracy and she wants to see the colours of Autumn on your card.

I have used Hero Arts - Basic Tree, quite an old one, doubt if it is still available.

The backing papers are from a pad that has lost it's front, but it has leaves in Autumnish colours.

I have coloured the image with various Promarkers, from looking out of my Craft room window at the colours I could see, when the trees still had leaves on them.

Our sponsors this week are
Sizzix and here is the prize on offer.

and our other sponsor is

Jiggery Makery.
who offer the winner 3 images of their own choice.

Here is my Advent Calendar and can't wait till the 1st of December, here it is...

24 bags of my total favourite snack, once a year for 24 days, I am in heaven, these are the real McCoy, plenty copies out there but not a patch on these, I know I have tried them all.

Sorry about the photo, my door is actually bright white and the packets are red, when I downloaded my photo the door was bright yellow

Sorry, but only my Grandson's are allowed an odd packet or two.

Have a great weekend.
Don't forget to pop over to the Allsorts challenge blog and see the other fabulous makes from the Design Team.

Rudolph Day November 2015

To be honest this wasn't what I intended doing for my last (boo hoo) RD challenge for 2015.
I wanted to show you the 150 Christmas Cards that I had made for my x-employer but after adding the inserts I put them into envelope's and couldn't be bothered to get them all back out again. I delivered them yesterday and stuck the labels on for them while I was there.

So this is it, I have had this tree die and the border die for years and have only just realised how well they go together, what an idiot.

Presscut - step card
Memory Box - Winterland Tree and Valencia Border
The star is from Creative Expressions Silent Night by Sue Wilson
SU punch and Craftwork Cards sentiment.
Shimmer paper, pale green - Craft Creations, bought at local craft shop.

Huge thank you to Mo for running the challenge and to all the entrants for your inspiration and lovely comments over the year.
Now I need to sort out my Christmas cards and hopefully I will have enough with just the Family ones left to make.
Thanks so much for popping by.

A quick reminder that as this is the 21st of November there are only 4 days left to the last Rudolph Day challenge of 2015, are you smug and patting your self on the back or are you in panic mode?
Also when the playground opens again on Sunday I will be hot footing it in there to enter this card there.

Snippets Playground week 201

Using the lovely Lavinia Stamp (no Name)
and stamped on a snippet of white card
some tiny weenie bits of navy blue card stock to back the sentiment. and border strip.
Papers - sorry, can't find the name but they are double sided( and only 45p a 12 x 12 sheet)  the strip has some gold leaf on it so I have gone round the edge of the image with gold  brilliance ink, looks more yellow on the photo though.
Coloured with Promarkers.
Jury is still out on this one to be honest.

Off to the Playground, hope it is a little bit calmer this week but I have made a loads of parkin so come in and help yourselves

Bought a new printer today I only went for some cartridges for my old one, another nightmare with technology, nearly 4 hours to set up, at my age I am lucky to have lived that long

Rudolph Day - Penultimate

Here we are on to the October Rudolph day over at Scrappy Mo's

I have used the Woodware stamp - Trio of Trees - who'd have guessed that eh!
Papers are from the Frozen Paper pad, by Crafts and You
Eucalyptus Stickles on the large 'lights' .
Sorry about the photo's but they don't do the cards justice.

The stars are from a die called Silent Night and I have cut them from a snippet of glitter paper.
So this means that for the first time for a few weeks I can charge into the playground, which, if I have done my sums correctly it will be week 200, well done Miss Di, you are a star
Need to check out plans for Bonfire Night, hope she has made the toffee and the parkin.

Only one more Rudolph Day left in 2015, where has this year gone???
Thanks for popping by and love to hear from you.

To be honest I have no verses but so lucky that I bought this lovely Happy Birthday die by Memory Box a while ago. Bought it really for easy mens cards as I don't find them at all easy.

I have cut it from some really pretty glitter  paper, from years ago, the photo doesn't really do it justice. I have also used Memory Box - Star flowers die.
Looking forward to seeing your entries this week.
Do pop over to the challenge blog and see the lovely cards made by the Design Team.

Allsorts Challenge 330 - Numbers

Wendy has asked us to use Numbers on our creations this week

Our sponsor this week is Marianne Designs and this is the prize on offer

A great prize on the approach to Christmas.

I have use a Mo Manning image - Have a blast, available as a digi image from Mo or on a P.B. stamp set with other images.
Papers are My Minds Eye

I first saw this image on a lovely blogging friend Chris, who makes fabulous cards and her card really made me want this image, although I would have felt really guilty totally casing it.

I have used a chipboard 7 and covered it with a paper that had numbers on then ran over it with distressed ink.
My youngest Grandson will be 7 in December and he has loved his water guns this Summer so this card will be ideal for him.

Looking forward to seeing your entries in our numbers challenge this week.

Rudolph Day - September 2015

I have two new dies both are from Poppy Stamps
Snowy Merry Christmas
Snowflake Ribbon

I knew I wanted to use these two dies together and this was my first idea.

Well that was a great mistake  but thought I would show and tell.
I had to find a pretty flat EF as the shimmer paper would not be thick enough not to show the bumps from the EF.
I did not manage to get the ribbon die the reach the end of the white and as you can see not a level ending
On this card I went for a more simple layout and I do prefer this one apart from the fact the white glitter paper does not show up as much as the silver glitter on the first card and the photo is not as good.

I did have a 3rd idea but that is in the bin.

Oh and for the very first time I have used the StickIt backing adhesive for the dies, it did make them more sturdy.

There are snippets used on this card, mostly from the shimmer paper and the white glitter paper so off to the Snippets Playground.

Happy Rudolph Day everyone and pop over to Mo's to join in the challenge

It's close to midnight and something evils, lurking in the dark, it's ok, it's only me, with a long awaited entry into a LIM challenge which this week is Technology, a subject that we love or hate and this is my take on it. and at the moment I hate it.
The photo is horrendous, technology,  at it's worst.
And to be honest I have had an horrendous week technology wise
Night, God bless.

Allsorts challenge week 329 - Sparkle

The challenge this week at Allsorts has been chosen by Tracey Mouse and she has asked us to use some Sparkle on our card.

Woodware - Snow is falling stamp.
Embossed with WOW - Silver Bells embossing powder
Papers - LOTV/Nitwits
Snowflakes - EK Success punch and Poppy Stamps - Giovanna snowflake
Sentiment - Craftwork Cards
Ribbon - SU

The photo does not actually do this card justice and as the Beach Boys sang - God only knows?,
why I didn't put the sentiment over the ribbon.

We have a fabulous prize this week

Please do check out the challenge rules.
